Accreditation opens
the door
Those who pass an examination of this association are received as members. Our members are spread across the world, of many nationalities and many fields of work.
Membership has two tiers open to all who pass, and a further tier entered by invitation alone. As protocol is the cord that binds one person to another, membership is the company of those who share that cord.
Four categories of member
Those who have passed an examination of this association. The standing is granted from the moment of accreditation, at any grade.
Those trained elsewhere in protocol who have also passed our examination. We receive them on equal footing, whatever their background.
Corporations, universities, embassies and other institutions in sympathy with our purpose. Their names are displayed on this site.
Diplomats, decorated figures and others of international distinction, invited by the association to build its standing with us.
Two open tiers
These two tiers are open to all who pass an examination. The tier is yours to choose and does not follow from the grade you hold. Specialist accreditation is open at either tier.

Fellow
Fellow is a tier entered by invitation alone. From among those accredited, the association invites those it is glad to receive into its inner circle. It is not reached by passing or by joining, but stands as recognition that one is counted among the company of this association.

The particulars of the Fellowship are conveyed to those the association invites. It is not open to application.
Each in their own place
Our members are those who have passed an examination of this association. They sit with us from Japan and from countries across the world.
No activity is required of members. Each, in their own place and in their own words, carries their work outward. This association holds that the shape of its membership is made by each of them.

Sit an examination
Pass an examination in any of the six disciplines and you are received as a member. Begin by applying.
Support as an institution
Institutions wishing to support this association as supporting members are invited to write to us.
Receive an invitation
Honorary members, and Fellows, are received by invitation of the association.
Those enrolled in the membership scheme of an affiliated institution may find that membership of this association is included. Please write to us for details.
